Where is the ball? أين هي الكرة

 

The ball is in the box.                                        The ball is above the box.

الكرة أعلى الصندوق                                                       الكرة في الصندوق

 

The ball is on the box.                                       The ball is below the box.

الكرة أسفل الصندوق                                                        الكرة على الصندوق

 

The ball is under the box.                                The ball is between two boxes.

الكرة بين صندوقين اثنين                                                        الكرة تحت الصندوق

 

The ball is behind the box.                              The ball is next to the box.

الكرة بجوار الصندوق                                                        الكرة خلف الصندوق

The ball is in front of the box. الكرة أمام الصندوق

The bluebird is in front of the box.                              The bluebird is behind the box.

الطائر الأزرق خلف الصندوق                                                          الطائر الأزرق أمام الصندوق

 

The bluebird is between the walls.                              The bluebird is flying around the wall.

الطائر الأزرق يحلق حول الحائط                                                          الطائر الأزرق بين الجدارين

The bluebird is opposite the green bird.

Over-Under

لوصف علاقة مكانية بين شيئين يقع أحدهما أسفل الآخر ولكن بشكل عامودي

A is over B.  حرف آي يقع مباشرة فوق حرف بي

 

B is under A. حرف بي يقع مباشرة تحت حرف آي

 

Above – Below

لوصف علاقة مكانية بين شيئين يقع أحدهما أسفل الآخر ولكن ليس بشكل عامودي

B is below A. حرف بي يقع مباشرة تحت حرف آي

 

Up – Down

He went up the stairs. Then he came down again.

 

صعد أعلى الدرج, ثم نزل أسفل الدرج مرة أخرى

 

Along – Across – Through

Walk along the street. سر على طول الطريق

 

We saw them walking across the street. رأيناهم  يسيرون عبر الشارع

 

We drove through the city. لقد سرنا في السيارة من خلال المدينة

 

 

 

Prepositions of Time: AT – IN – ON

 

At

 في الحالات التالية at نستخدم حرف الجر

 

1- at + specific time وقت محدد

 

at 7 o’clock, at 7:30, at 1:15 p.m

 

2- at + part of the day جزء من اليوم

 

at noon, at afternoon, at night, at midnight

 

3- at + occasions / public holidays/ weekends في المناسبات والأعياد والعطل

 

at weekends, at the weekend, at Eid Al-Fitr

 

 

 

Examples أمثلة

 

I will meet him at 12 o’clock. سوف ألتقي به في تمام الساعة الثانية عشرة

 

The bus will stop at 7:30  p.m. الباص سةف يتوقف في الساعة السابعة والنصف

 

 

 

 

 

In

 في الحالات التالية in نستخدم حرف الجر

 

1- in + part of the day جزء من اليوم

 

in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening

 

2- in + date تاريخ

 

in July, in 2018, in the 20th Century

 

3- in + long periods  فترات زمنية طويلة

 

in years, in a month

 

4- in + future للحديث عن أمر في المستقبل

 

in one hour, in 3 weeks, in 5 minutes.

 

5- in + duration مدة زمنية: كم من الوقت سوف يستغرق

 

in ten minutes, in two years, in two days

 

 

 

Example أمثلة

 

He always reads the newspaper in the morning. إنه يقرأ الصحيفة في الصباح دائمًًا

 

The new series will start in May.  المسلسل الجديد سوف يبدأ في شهر مايو

I will arrive in five minutes. سوف أصل في غضون خمسة دقائق

 

 

 

 

 

On

 في الحالات التالية on نستخدم حرف الجر

 

1- on + day يوم محدد

 

on Sunday, on Thursday

 

2- on + date تاريخ

 

on 3rd March, on 1st December

 

3- on + time في الوقت المحدد

 

exactly the right time أي أن الفعل حصل في الوقت الصحيح, في الوقت المحدد تمامًا

 

Airplanes arrive on time الطائرات دائمًا تصل في الوقت المحدد

Buses never arrive on time الباصات لا تصل أبدًا في الوقت المحدد

Shops don’t open on Friday. المحلات لا تفتح يوم الجمعة

 

What do you do on the weekend? ماذا تفعل في عطلة نهاية الأسبوع

 

My birthday is on 20- April. عيد ميلادي في العشرين من شهر ابريل
